This morning when I got up, took a quick shower, put on my late-spring clothes, and finally sat down in front of my computer, I felt quite "chilly". The air-conditioner was on 70 F and everything seemed normal except the gloomy sky. I went to the Capital Weather Gang website and surprisingly found that today it was going to rain and snow...
When I for first time received pre-arrival package from LSE summer school in 2009, one sentence caught my eyes, "as you may know, the weather in London is notoriously unpredictable". And when I arrived there, I was so grateful that the information pacakge told me the right thing. My tenant thought it useless to bring an umbrella since the rain would fall in every minute and stop in the next, while his girlfriend insisted that just because of the capricious weather, I should take one whenever and wherever.
Now I'm at DC. I witnessed many "historical moments". The overwhelming storms in February stuck us in Rockville for more than a week. I ordered many books from amazon and later realized that there would be no delivery during that time. I stocked mountains of food and crammed them into the fridge but they never seemed to be enough. I made green tea and flower tea seven times a day just to kill time. Boys in other apartments devoted their time to Dota...Thankfully in that stuck-in week, I finished a book of communication theories. Besides, I washed and cleaned and went to workout and slept a lot.
Just about a week ago, there was fabulous nice weather in DC, with temperature over 75 and beautiful sunshine all day. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to go outdoors because we're once again "stuck" in NPT Review Conference. Well, after all, we enjoyed it.
On this coming Saturday we are going to National Park. But now it seems that the plan is doomed to be ruined by bad weather. How I wish I were a little baby sitting in the tiny trolley gently pushed by my mom and dad and we altogether went to Woodley Park in big sunshine...
